Safe Internet

Remember the Internet is a public place, and you have no way of knowing who you are really talking to online.

Never give the following information to people that you only know online:
1. Full name
2. Age
3. Address or city you live in
4. Phone number
5. Information about your family
6. Social Security Number or credit card numbers
7. Passwords

There is no way of really knowing who you are meeting online. If you want to meet an online friend in person:
1. Always talk with your parent or guardian before you agree to meet anyone
2. Never go to meet an online friend alone
3. Always meet in a public place

Sometimes people use bad language or make mean comments online. Never respond to these types of e-mails, chat comments or instant messages. If something you see scares you or makes you feel bad, talk with your parents or a trusted adult.
